Miller Alsop Cemetery, Located in Jefferson Co., KY

Index copied from "A History of some of the Churches in Jefferson Co. and Names and Dates of Births and Deaths copied form monuments in Church and Private Cemeteries in Jeff. Co. as gathered by Warren Keller Frederick, 1963 Richmond Ave., Louisville, KY [1932].  This cemetery is located on the 'Old Robert Miller Farm' and he was my paternal 4th great grandfather, along with his wife, Cassandra Moore Miller.  All the Miller's in this cemetery are my ancestors and their 'kin'.  I will note how we fit in to each by their individual listing.

I, my husband and fellow cemetery enthusiast, visited this cemetery on a hot stick day in July 2008.  At first glance when we got there, only a few stones were visible.  However, there were many bases and we started digging at each base, and lo and behold, we dug up stone after stone.

After a couple of hours on our knees digging in the dirt and sweating profusely, we decided we would come back on a cooler and drier day.  It is this authors intent to dig up and photograph as many as possible on a return trip as this is just a small number of what must be there under the dirt.

I also fully intend to restore this cemetery to it's formal glory, one stone at a time.

George W. Moore

Died April 11, 1850, age 20
(b. 1821)

James Francis Moore and his wife Elizabeth Higgins had a son named George W. Moore, but he would have had to be born with the rest of the siblings who were born in the late 1700's or early 1800's.  Being born in 1821 would make his mother, Elizabeth Higgins way too old to be the mother.  This could be a son of the George W. Moore, who was the son of James Francis.

The information about George's death data and year is from the Cemetery Index that was done in 1930.  It is possible there is a mistake and this is indeed George W. Moore, son of James Francis and Elizabeth Higgins.
